One of the implementations of ESG principles at Kideco is through the development of the Samurangau Eco Park, the establishment of honey bee cultivation areas, mine reclamation, and other greening programs, both within and outside Kideco’s operational area.

Coinciding with the visit of the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan, Prof. Dr. Drs. Akmal Malik, M.Si, on October 9, 2024, Kideco organized a tree planting program within its operational area. The event continued with a visit to the honey bee cultivation area located within Kideco’s nursery, as well as a tour of the Samurangau Eco Park, a 45-hectare recreational forest area, established in 2021 and opened to the public in 2022, Samurangau Eco Park features an agro-educational tourism concept.

Located in Samurangau village, Batu Sopang district, Paser regency, Samurangau Eco Park consists of three main zones: historical, natural, and cultural. Visitors can explore various sites, including ancient tombs, karst caves, tropical forest ecosystems, micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) facilities, and traditional East Kalimantan architecture.

In his speech at the event, President Director of Kideco, M. Kurnia Ariawan said, “Samurangau Eco Park was built by Kideco in collaboration with the Samurangau Village Government, with management fully entrusted to the community. Kideco remains committed to environmental sustainability, implementing various initiatives both within and around our operational areas.”
