This event has been held since 2020 to recognize the performance of mining companies in implementing good practices in Mineral and Coal Mining Principles across five assessment criteria. These criteria include mining technical aspects, conservation aspects, mining safety aspects, environmental protection aspects, as well as standardization and mining service business aspects.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, Bahlil Lahadalia, mentioned that the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from Minerals and Coal has reached 87.49% of the target this year. “This represents a significant contribution to state income and makes it one of Indonesia’s main export commodities. However, businesses must continue to apply GMP. The welfare of communities around mining sites must be considered, and issues related to post-mining and the environment must be addressed, maintained, and regulated in accordance with the rules.”

Director General of Mineral and Coal, KESDM, Tri Winarno, stated that the primary objective of the event is not merely to give recognition. “This event is intended to motivate business party to continue implementing good mining practices while considering the elements of people and the planet, in addition to pursuing profit. We have to keep contributing to state revenues and achieving sustainable future”.

After receiving the awards, Kideco’s Chief Operating Officer, Edra Emilza, expressed his gratitude for the recognition from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. “This is a trust given by the government to Kideco, which we will uphold. These awards serve as a benchmark for us to continue committing to benefiting all stakeholders and strengthening GMP aspects in all our operational business activities”.
